The Poovar Island Resort near the state capital of Trivandrum, offers you the opportunity to laze on the golden sandy beaches. The resort has everything that a modern traveller could ask for. From its superior and unique Floating Cottages to the Land Cottages, the amenities provided are the best in their class. The elegant floating cottages are connected to the island by a bridge. Built atop hollow concrete drums, the cottages represent the Kerala style of architecture with its wooden panels, traditional designs and thatched roofs. Each of the floating cottages are securely anchored though they sway lightly and pleasantly with the waves in the bay. The cottages are air conditioned and have hot and cold water, tea and coffee maker and direct telephone dialing facility. The Land Cottages also known as the Superior Cottages are built on stilts on a water moat. They too are air-conditioned with cable TV, hot and cold water and direct telephone facilities.

Poovar Island has a multicuisine restaurant serving delicacies from Kerala, north India, the Continent and China. Barbecue dinners are held by the poolside with live entertainment. There is also a Sunken Bar in the swimming pool.
